What is Extra Life?

In 2008 and 2009 Extra Life raised a combined $302,000 dollars, 100% of which went directly to help kids at The Texas Children's Hospital. In 2010 and 2011 gamers around the world raised a total of $1,559,204 for their local hospitals with the help of the Children's Miracle Network.

Just like last year, when you sign up to play video games for 24 hours on October 20th, 2012, you won't just be raising money for kids. You'll be supporting local kids and their families. Kids right in your own back yard.

100% of the money you raise in Extra Life 2012 will go directly to the Children's Miracle Network Hospital closest to you if choose to participate, create your own team or join Team Meerkat.

I have a family tie with Cancer, my mum fought valiant skirmishes for a number of years with the beast, but eventually lost the war. While adults having Cancer sucks, children deserve the extra effort to make sure they can have a life to enjoy. Ending Cancer’s inevitability is on my quest list.
