Akiliyan (Alick Jacklin) aka The Tank

Aki is a gaming addict, he started playing around the age of 7 when he was introduced to his first console, he’s been hooked ever since. Aki is a calibration engineer, working in the UK. When he’s not working you can find him chatting with friends over Ventrilo, MSN, or any online game he happens to be on. Aki is doing Extra Life to put a stop to cancer or at least ease those who suffer. “It is a terrible fate to befall someone and I hope that with this little donation, we see an improvement in the treatments for those who suffer“.

Favorite games: Final Fantasy VII and IX and XI, Overlord 2, Zone of the Enders 1 and 2.

Playing style: Cannon fodder I.E. I kill him before he kills me…

Epsilon Aspire (Tristan Guest) aka The Sniper

Epsi has been playing online games since there was an online to play them on. His favorite game type is RTS (Real Time Strategy), Command & Conquer, Total Annihilation, Homeworld 2 and Supreme Commander, to name a few. When he’s not playing games you can normally find him in a field attached to a very large Power-Kite standing on a Landboard trying to perfect the latest trick. “I love the idea of a world wide Charity event doing something I love for a good cause, you cant go wrong with that!”

Favorite games: Epsi’s absolute all time favorite game of all time has to be Total Annihilation, it was the first RTS to use Polygons and not just pixels meaning it could take height and line of sight into account when calculating the fights. Supreme Commander comes in a very close second.

Play style: In an FPS Epsi will almost always play a Sniper style character, waiting for that perfect single shot, that one shot that can turn the balance of a fight or prevent an enemy taking a flag before reinforcements can arrive. In all the other games he tries to be as adaptive as possible fill any roll required at the time.

Reishi (Paul West) aka The Healer

Rei has been gaming since the arcade days, he owns quite a few consoles both old and new, but his first love is PC gaming (on a Mac!). Text only adventure games were the catalyst for Rei’s love of RPG’s (Role Playing Games), from Amstrad through 386 to today, you can find him deep in the story arc of any number of RPG games. Rei is happily married, is a graphic designer, illustrator and UX developer by trade and is ravenous for Satsumas. “I have a family tie with Cancer and while adults having it sucks, children deserve the extra effort to make sure they can enjoy life. Cancer’s on my quest list“.

Favorite games: There are so very many, to name but a few; KOTOR, Mass Effect, Galactic Civilization II, FF XII, NWN II, Sim City 4.

Play style: In almost every game you’ll find Rei playing a Support class, helping his buddies stay alive, feeding them ammo or generally running about trying to not get hit. In MMO’s and the better FPS’s you’ll find Rei playing the Healer.

Lugana Selacious (Sam Albon) aka The Support

Lug started gaming before he can remember, either with the Star Wars tabletop RPG, or Sega Mega Drive 2. If he’s not at his Mac playing games, then he’s probably in a field pretending he’s an elf. Lug’s spent the last few months playing as many different games as he can, for purely research purposes, as he begins his University degree in September: Computer Games Programming. “Gaming for charity, what a great concept. I’m terrible at sports, so I’ve never raised money for charity by doing any of these ‘Fun Runs’ or anything; but gaming I am good at! I’d like to see these kids get the chance to enjoy it as much as I do.”

Favorite games: Lug’s favourite game is Starcraft, soon to be replaced with Starcraft 2 once Blizzard actually release it. Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe, Supreme Commander, Battlefield 2142, Civilization 4, Empire at War, WipEout HD Fury, Warhawk; are just a few that get played regularly. But above all, the one that gets played most of all is EVE Online. Clocking up an impressive amount of hours most days; this is how he met the rest of the team.

Play style: Depending on the game, Lug often plays the tank in EvE, support in an FPS’s and defense in an RTS. Although, in Battlefield 2142 you’ll find him camping opposite the core room with his Ganz, inaccurately sniping until the opposing team tries to ban him. True story, happened twice.
